Online Permits

The City of Columbus offers several permits available for online purchase.

Currently, the following permits are available online:

  • Electrical permits - Residential, Commercial, and Multi-Family
    • Full permits associated to a building permit/approved plan review
    • Minor, limited scope permits
    • Stand-alone permit (requires inspection supervisor approval)
  • Mechanical Permits - Residential, Commercial, and Multi-Family
    • Full permits associated to a building permit/approved plan review
    • Minor, limited scope permits
    • Stand-alone permit (requires inspection supervisor approval)
  • Plumbing Permits - Residential, Commercial, and Multi-Family
    • Full permits associated to a building permit/approved plan review
    • Minor, limited scope permits
    • Stand-alone permit (requires inspection supervisor approval)

Prior to purchasing a permit online, register for an online account. To register, click the Citizen Access Portal then click the link in the upper right corner of the page marked "Register for an Account". Once your account is created, use your account credentials to log in and begin the online permitting process.
