City of Columbus Schedules Annual Special Bulk Trash Pickups In OSU Area As Students Move-out and Move-in Prior to Autumn Semester
The City of Columbus will provide 16 free bulk trash
drop-off locations for the Ohio State University area, the most densely
populated area in Columbus with close to 50,000 residents. This annual pickup
will take place as leases expire, apartments are vacated and furniture and
other large items are thrown out prior to students moving in for OSU’s fall
semester. The free drop-off locations will be available July 26 through August
17. Residents can also schedule bulk pickup by calling 645-3111.
“We will be working hard to keep the alleys in the OSU
area clean during Move-out/Move-in, but we need students, landlords and others
to do their part by taking their bulk items to the free drop-off locations and
not leave them in the alleys,” said Tracie Davies, Director of the Department
of Public Service. “Residents can also call 311 or donate old furniture
to charitable organizations that will get it to people most in need who can put
it to good use.”

within the following boundaries:
- North: Glen Echo Ravine

drop-off-sites; other types of waste will not be accepted

Ohio at (614) 272-9544. The Furniture Bank distributes the furniture,
free of charge, to Columbus families in need.
