Berrell Ave Water Line Improvements

The Berrell Avenue Area Water Line Improvements Project will be constructed as part of the Division of Water’s Replacement and Rehabilitation (R &R) Program. The project area is located within the North Linden Planning Area, south of Agler Road between Cleveland Avenue and Alum Creek (view map). The goal of this project is to replace or rehabilitate the existing 6-inch and 8-inch water lines that have a high break frequency. Replacement of these water lines will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.

The project will include approximately 13,000 linear feet of water line replacement. Most of the existing water mains are around 85 years old. Along with the installation of new 6-inch and 8-inch water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers. Construction is expected to begin in the winter of 2015.

Prior to construction, the Neighborhood Liaison will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may result though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.

It is expected the Ohio EPA will granted the Division of Water a loan to fund this project as part of the Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA). Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA requires a detailed submittal from the Division of Water to determine the project’s eligibility.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and letter of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies."
