Nitrate Advisory Remains in Effect
Special Water Distribution will Support Affected Groups in Impacted Areas
The nitrate advisory continues, and applies only to infants under the age of 6 months and pregnant women within the advisory area.
Starting Tuesday, June 16, pregnant women and infants below 6 months within the advisory area and are not able to easily secure bottled water, can contact 211 for public health assistance.
Due to low demand, after today’s distribution scheduled from 3-6 p.m. there will be no drive thru pickup at Columbus Public Health. Tap water remains safe for young children, adults, seniors, and pets.
The nitrate advisory will be assessed daily – and additional water distribution hours will be determined at that time.
Additionally, Columbus Public Health will continue to provide water to WIC clients (pregnant women and infants less than 6 months) and other programs in the affected areas.
Bottled water is readily available at all area grocery stores, corner markets, gas stations, pharmacies and retail outlets.
The Nitrate Advisory for some areas served by the Dublin Road Water Plant remains in effect for portions of west, central, and southwest Columbus, as well as Grandview Heights, Grove City, Hilliard, Lincoln Village, Marble Cliff, Upper Arlington, Urbancrest, and Valleyview. (See attached map.)
For questions on Columbus water, please call the Department of Public Utilities Customer Service center at 645-8276. Updates will be available at www.utilities.columbus.gov and on Facebook (under Columbus Public Utilities).
