The Local Food Board
The Local Food Advisory Board consists of influential community mobilizers and food system experts who can provide intellectual, physical, social, and/or monetary capital. These are leaders in our community who can achieve results and increase awareness of food related issues among decision makers in our community. The Local Food Advisory Board, consisting of 12 members who are directly appointed by Columbus City Council (6 seats) and Franklin County Board of Commissioners (6 seats), will meet quarterly to:
- Prioritize Local Food Action Plan actions for implementation
- Report progress to City and County elected officials
- Evaluate food system-related proposals made to City/County
The
Columbus and Franklin County Local Food Board holds quarterly meetings from
9:00-11:30am on the 2nd Friday of the following months: January,
April, July, and October. Special Board meetings are scheduled as needed. Dates
and times are subject to change – please contact the Local Food Team to confirm
upcoming meeting locations and times or to request an advance copy of the
agenda. Meetings are held in person and are open to the public. A copy of the Local Food Board Bylaws can be found here.
