    In conjunction with WOSU Public Media's "Columbus Neighborhoods" series, the CJO and BalletMet celebrate life in Columbus through a synthesis of music, movement and imagery. From gospel to Motown, jazz to classical ballet, Jazz Moves Columbus will commemorate the city's heritage with two of its artistic treasures. The original "Jazz Moves" won the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Artistic Excellence Award and was called "groundbreaking" by the Columbus Dispatch.   • Victorian Tea: Valentine Tea

    Throughout the year, the Kelton House offers Victorian-inspired teas with a tasteful sampling of savories and sweets reminiscent of 19th century ladies' get-togethers. The menu for each Tea is different, but is always accompanied by traditional Earl Grey tea. Each Tea also includes a short educational program that usually reflects either the season or an object from the Kelton House Museum collection. Don't be disappointed make your reservations early.
  • Koritha Mitchell, Author, Speaks about Living with Lynching in America
    February 8, 2012 / The Wellington School
    Koritha Mitchell is a literary historian and cultural critic. She specializes in African American literature, racial violence throughout U.S. literature and culture, and black drama and performance. She examines how texts, both written and performed, have helped terrorized families and communities survive and thrive. She is author of, Living with Lynching: African American Lynching Plays, Performance, and Citizenship, 1890-1930. Currently an associate professor of English at Ohio State University, Dr. Mitchell earned her Ph.D. at the University of Maryland-College Park, and her research has been supported by the Ford Foundation and the American Association of University Women.
