Spring Break Activities
Radio One Pop Up Parties
Radio One is sponsoring “Pop up Parties” at various
community centers during Spring Break. The first party will be Thursday,
March 24 from 3 – 5 at Linden Community Center where 107.5 will be
broadcasting live. Commercials for this will begin on Monday.
The other parties are being scheduled and we will send you the dates and times.
Egg Hunts – March 26
Radio One is partnering with Dodge Community Center to hold an
“eggstravagana” from 9-11. Spots will be aired this week on 107.1. Download the Flyer
The Metropolitan Youth Foundation has partnered with Howard Community
Center for the 18th annual All Star Saturday, which includes and egg
hunt. Visit www.allstarsaturday.com/columbus_ohio/ for more information

Spring Break Drop in Activities
Centers will be offering drop in activities for Spring Break that are
open to all and require no registration or payment. Specific schedules
are available on the individual webpages of centers through the CRPD website.
Spring Break Extended Hours
Six of our centers will have a presence of APPS (Applications for
Purpose, Pride and Success) staff who will be on site from 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm
March 29 through April 2. The programming will include soccer,
basketball, NCAA Final Four Watch party and other events. The six centers
are:
Barack
Beatty
Linden
Adams
Dodge
Barnett
Free Lunch
Milo Grogan and Barnett will both be offering free lunch over Spring
Break.

Background
In October 2014, Mayor Michael B. Coleman accepted President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Call to Action to create and implement a plan to address opportunity gaps for boys and men of color in our community.

On December 1, 2014 the City hosted the first MBK Community Forum at the King Arts Complex. This forum was attended by nearly 400 stakeholders.
