The Columbus Blue Jackets, central Ohio’s National Hockey League team, is a dedicated organization that is proud to be part of our Ohio community. The Blue Jackets touch thousands of live every year through special events, educational programs and grass roots outreach.

In July 2010, Jackets’ Coach Scott Arniel and team mascot, Stinger, joined Mayor Michael B. Coleman and former OSU star, Stanley Jackson to launch www.getactivecolumbus.com. The site gives residents and visitors a user-friendly online source to find fit and fun activities for the whole family. Coach Arniel spoke about his personal commitment to being part of Columbus’ comprehensive effort to get our kids moving.

The Columbus Blue Jackets team up with community organizations to focus on active and healthy kids. Superstar Rick Nash and the Columbus Dispatch Newspapers in Education created the 61 Club Good Health Challenge. As an outstanding partner, the Blue Jackets are a part of numerous activities to help young people, including Street Jackets, player appearances, a speakers bureau, library-based involvement and much more.
