Lt. Nick Konves Lt. Nick Konves grew up in Mansfield, Ohio. Lt. Konves was active in sports throughout his childhood. Lt. Konves played basketball, soccer, and was a swimmer and wrestler. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 2003. Ever since he was small, he wanted to be a firefighter. He attended Hocking College where he became a firefighter/paramedic in 2005. He was immediately hired by the Mansfield Fire Department. While there, he often interacted with law enforcement and became interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. He was hired by the Columbus Division of Police in 2007 and was a member of the 112th recruit class.

He was promoted in 2012 and transferred to Zone 5 where he has spent the remainder of his career on the 7th and 11th precincts. Lt. Konves teaches various classes at the CPD Academy and is a member of the Driving Impaired Criminal Enforcement (DICE) Team. He was appointed by (former) Chief Jacobs as the first LGBT Diversity/Inclusion Liaison in 2015.

When not in uniform, Lt. Konves enjoys exploring the globe, and has visited 36 states and 8 countries to date. He enjoys experiencing the various cultures and foods the globe has to offer.  Lt. Konves has also been a scuba diver since he was 14 years old and enjoys exploring the seas for new creatures, sharks and reefs.
