- Livingston Avenue Pedestrian Safety Study
Description and Benefits:
This project involves the preparation of a pedestrian safety
and complete streets study of Livingston Avenue from the southern 18th Street
signalized intersection to Nelson Road. The study will develop a plan for
improvements to promote safety for all roadway user with a focus on reducing
severe crashes and vehicular operating speeds.
The study area covers 1.5 miles of the Livingston Avenue
corridor within the City of Columbus and the Livingston Avenue Area Commission
(LAVA-C). At the eastern limit the City
of Bexley has an ongoing joint study with the City of Columbus from Nelson Road
to James Road. There are ongoing improvements
as part of the ODOT Pedestrian Safety Improvement Plans at the 22nd Avenue,
Wilson Avenue, and Lilley Avenue intersections with Livingston Avenue. The
majority of the corridor falls on the Vision Zero Columbus High Injury Network
This project was requested under the Urban Infrastructure
Recovery Fund (UIRF) program that is managed by the Department of Development,
Planning Division.
