The Ohio Department of Transportation conducted its 2nd Annual Civil Rights Transportation Symposium at the Hyatt Regency April 10 - 11, 2018. The Central State University Choir performed during the Luncheon on 4/11/18 before a room full of diverse business owners and major corporations.

Under the leadership of Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and Interim Chief Diversity Officer, Damita Brown, The Mayor’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is responsible for supporting Mayor Ginther and his Cabinet Leadership Team by leading diversity and inclusion management within the City of Columbus. The ODI will focus on four pillars of diversity and inclusion management: Workforce Diversity, Supplier Diversity, Diverse Outreach and Internal Diverse Leadership, Commitment and Communication are necessary for building Columbus into America’s Equal Opportunity City.
Mission: To ensure that the City of Columbus sources goods and services, in all commodity categories, from diverse suppliers, with a focus on expanding the number and capacity of certified diverse suppliers, and expand the variety of goods and services offered by those diverse suppliers. This mission will include developing policies to enhance inclusion and utilization efforts within the procurement process of the City of Columbus and its Departments and Commissions.

Mission: To implement an
aggressive outreach strategy partnering with key external stakeholders in the
areas of business, industry, academia and governmental and social service

Smart Columbus Diversity Working Group
'The Office of Diversity and Inclusion hosted Councilmember Shannon Hardin, Chief Innovation Officer Michael Stevens and a host of civic, educational, workforce development and supplier diversity leaders on October 19, 2017 at the Jerry Hammond Center at 1111 E. Broad Street for the first 'Smart Columbus Diversity Working Group' meeting.
The Working Group will seek to achieve goals and objectives related to Smart Columbus in the areas of Supplier Diversity and Workforce Development Training for both publicly and privately funded aspects of the Grant Program.
