LGBTQ Health Impact Leaders

Health Impact Leader Award

Health Impact Leader Awards are an effort to recognize and honor the work of health and social service providers who have or are currently providing culturally competent care and services.

The purpose of the award ceremony is to recognize individual physicians, nurses, social workers, advocates, community members, volunteers and agencies that have made a positive impact on the health of the LGBTQ Community. Individual nominees need not be LGBTQ identified, nor must they have made contributions as part of their professional employment. The LGBTQ Health Coalition recognizes the work of both seasoned and emerging leaders who have made a significant impact on the health of this community.

For the 2015 awards, the HILA committee reviewed 24 nominees from a wide range of fields, including physicians, community activists, nurses, social workers, HIV advocates, non-profit leaders and public health professionals. The nomination field was compelling and the decision process was difficult, but the committee felt the winners are those who exemplify the spirit of culturally competent care and provide outstanding care. The committee was excited to publicly recognize the winners at the HILA awards ceremony that concluded the Greater Columbus LGBTQ Health Equity Conference on Saturday, October 31st, 2015. Congratulations to all of our Health Impact Leaders!
