*HOUSE
BILL 64
Up
until 2015, a city health district could declare a public health emergency related
to blood borne pathogens in order to create a syringe exchange program. The
current FY 2016‐2017 state budget bill,
Amended Substitute House Bill 64, changes Ohio law to allow local boards of
health to establish a blood borne infectious disease prevention program to
reduce the transmission of infectious diseases without declaring a public
health emergency.
