Enforcement Agencies Will Show Zero Tolerance In Its Goal to End Drunk Driving
WHAT:
In advance of Labor Day weekend,
Columbus Public Health, Truro Township Fire, Reynoldsburg Police, and the
Franklin County DUI Task Force will be educating residents on the dangers of
driving drunk at the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival with two crashed cars and a
jaws of life demonstration. From August 19 – September 5, state and local
law enforcement agencies across the nation are stepping up enforcement to put
an end to drunk driving, showing zero tolerance in an effort to save lives.

This Labor Day weekend, families and friends will be celebrating the end of the
summer. Sadly, this festive time has also become a dangerous time for America’s
roads, as many drunk drivers get behind the wheel after celebrating.
According to the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration, approximately one third of all traffic crash fatalities
in the United States involve drunk drivers. The same is true for Franklin
County. Thirty percent of fatal traffic crashes in Franklin County
involve alcohol.
