Grow Your Skill Set Learn new skills for new job opportunitiesWhat to Expect?Learn the basics of green infrastructure construction and maintenance during 72 hours of classroom instruction, experience in the lab and hands-on field training. Upon successful completion of the training program, you will receive an OSHA Construction Safety Awareness card and a certificate in Green Infrastructure Construction/Maintenance. The City of Columbus will recognize your certificate as equivalent to past experience when reviewing contractor bids on green infrastructure construction and maintenance projects.Who Can Participate?This training program is open to any individual including small business owners and their employees. You must be at least 18 years old at the time you register for the program.What is Green Infrastructure?Green infrastructure is a new way of managing the rain water that falls on roads and other hard surfaces. It relies on soil and plants to absorb the water.Why Learn about Green Infrastructure?The City of Columbus is beginning to install more green infrastructure in its neighborhoods, creating new opportunities for long-term jobs building and maintaining the sites.
