The Hometown Choice for Energy

The Columbus Division of Power is a full-service, publicly owned electrical utility that provides power to industry, business and residential customers through our own distribution system. Columbus Power provides electricity to more than 17,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers with competitive and stable pricing.

DOP Workers

Columbus Power offers:

  • Reliable Power
  • Responsive Service
  • Stable, competitive rates

In the event of a main outage, power will be restored within hours, not days. We have an advanced Operations Dispatch Center, which is staffed 24/7. There will always be a live person to speak to when you call. In addition, customers can view a power outage map to find the location and cause of the power outage, the number of customers affected and the estimated service restoration time. Customers can also sign up using Twitter to receive service outage notices and status updates.

Interested in learning if your home or business is eligible for city electricity? View an interactive-searchable map to see if it is in our service territory. If so, please complete the online service request form or contact us at 614-645-8276.  Find out more about the Division of Power.
