ColumbusCARE Coalition Offers Residents Support after Ohio State Fair Incident
Residentsurged to reach out for help coping with traumatic events
Columbus, OH – Following the tragic events that unfolded yesterday at the Ohio State Fair, the Columbus CARE Coalition is offering residents resources and support to help cope with trauma.
The Columbus CARE Coalition is hosting a Grief Support Clinic today, July 27, 2017, from 2:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 82 E. 16th Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43201. Trained mental health counselors will be available to provide support for those impacted by the tragic events at the state fair or other traumatic events in their community. Services offered at this clinic are free and counselors will be available to connect people to long-term services as needed.

The Columbus CARE Coalition is a collaborative community effort that helps individuals, families and neighborhoods become healthy and strong again after something traumatic happens. The Coalition’s Steering Committee members include: City of Columbus: Columbus Public Health and Department of Development, Columbus Springs Dublin, Center for Family Safety and Healing, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services (ETSS), Mount Carmel Crime and Trauma Assistance Program, Netcare Access, YMCA of Central Ohio.
