Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and the City of Columbus Host the Inaugural Ohio Municipalities Business Conference
The first Ohio Municipalities Business Conference opened
today at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Hosted by Mayor Andrew J.
Ginther and the City of Columbus, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the two-day
event provides tangible tips, resources and business opportunities to
start-ups, entrepreneurs and small business owners across the state. More than
500 business owners, procurement officers and supplier diversity professionals from
around Ohio are expected to attend.
“This is a great opportunity for municipalities across the
state to leverage their buying power for the betterment of our small and
entrepreneurial business communities, which we know are drivers of our economic
growth,” said Mayor Ginther. “Columbus is proud to be the host of this
first-of-its kind event.”
Programming highlights include:
- “Unleash Your Next Billion Dollar Idea” –
opening plenary with Chinedu Echeruo, co-founder of MindMeet and founder of
Hopstop; Wednesday, August 2, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
- Power Breakfast: “A Digital Revolution:
Connectivity & Mobility in the Age of Innovation” with Everette Taylor, vice-president
of marketing at Skurt, emcee Nick Fortine, publisher of Columbus Business
First, and a panel discussion led by Brandi Braun, Smart Columbus Team;
Thursday, August 3, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
- Business Expo Ribbon Cutting; Thursday, August
3, 9:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Mayor Roundtable Luncheon with Mayor Ginther and
other elected officials across the State of Ohio as they cover topics such as
how to do business with public entities, upcoming initiatives and more; Thursday, August 3, noon to 2:00 p.m.
