Military, Veterans Join the City in Celebrating Purple Heart Recipients

What:
To
honor those who have been wounded in combat or given the ultimate sacrifice,
Councilmember Mitchell J. Brown and Columbus Veterans Affairs are
dedicating the corner of Front and Broad streets as Purple Heart Way.
This
event will kick off a weekend-long celebration that includes the Fourth Annual
Purple Heart 5k run/walk on Saturday, August 5 and National Purple Heart Day on
Monday, August 7. Those uniting in support of the events include veterans
groups, representatives of the U.S. Military, patriotic citizens
and Purple Heart recipients.
City
Hall will light up purple to celebrate the week.
