Oakland Park Medina Area Green Infrastructure

This project will construct rain gardens along Medina Ave., Norwood Street, Dresden Street, Bremen Street, Oaklawn Street, Greenwhich Street, and Kenlawn Street between Oakland Park and Weber Roads and along Kenworth Road, East Northbroadway, East Brighton Road, Milford Ave. and Melrose Ave. between Medina Ave. and Cleveland Ave.  It will also construct a large regional bioretention pond in Kenlawn Park.

The goal of the project is to provide detention and water quality improvement to rain water that will be redirected from the sanitary sewer system by future Blueprint projects. For more information see the Blueprint Linden project summary.

The estimated construction cost is approximately $2.5 million. Financing is being provided through a below market-rate loan through the OEPA’s Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Sewerage and Drainage to determine the project’s eligibility.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and the letter of "Notice of Issuance of a Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies."
