Artane - Parkwood Area Green Infrastructure

This project will construct rain garden bump outs along Genessee Avenue (between Cleveland and Parkwood), Bancroft Street (between Arlington and Republic), Republic Avenue (between Traymore and Joyce), Myrtle Avenue (between Delbert and Parkwood), and Taylor Avenue (between Myrtle and Republic). It will also construct a large stormwater detention facility in Joan Park as well as regional rain gardens on: Briarwood Avenue (between Greenwich and Cleveland), Mulby Place (between Linden Avenue and Cleveland), the corner of Linden Place and Linden Avenue, Traymore Place, and Bancroft Street (between Hudson and Republic).

The goal of the project is to provide detention and water quality improvement to rain water that will be redirected from the sanitary sewer system by future Blueprint projects. For more information see the Blueprint Linden project summary.

The estimated construction cost is approximately $3 million. Financing is being provided through a below market-rate loan through the OEPA’s Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Sewerage and Drainage to determine the project’s eligibility.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and the letter of "Notice of Issuance of a Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies."
