Tricia Fought
Traffic Studies Engineer
Division of Traffic Management
What is your typical day like?
On a
typical day, I come in and check and see what’s going on as far as our
division’s priorities for the day. I’ve learned in traffic management that it’s
important to understand the day’s priorities.
On a
daily basis, I usually have meetings to attend on traffic matters. I also
confer with my staff, most of whom perform tasks such as data collection,
reviewing traffic requests from constituents and conducting reviews of traffic
situations in and around neighborhoods.
What made you want to work for the City of Columbus, Department of Public Service?
I had been
working in the private sector. I have had public sector experience in the past
and I thoroughly enjoyed it. An opportunity presented itself here at the city
of Columbus and a return to the public sector sounded very appealing. The rest
is history and I’m so very glad I made the transition.
