Holt Avenue / Somersworth Drive Stormwater System Improvements
This project is to construct a new storm sewer system and replace existing storm sewer inlet catch basins on Holt Ave, Meredith Dr., Argyle Dr., and Somersworth Dr. The project was initiated based on street/yard flooding complaints from residents living in the project area.
The project area is bounded by: Sunbury Dr. on East, Somersworth Ct. on West, Vendome Dr. on North and Somersworth Dr. on South.
Proposed stormwater system improvements will mitigate street flooding, yard flooding thereby improving the quality of life in this neighborhood.
Two public meetings were held. At the start of the project, an open house format meeting was held for the City and Engineering Consultant to gather input from residents on stormwater-related issues affecting the neighborhood, as well as answer questions regarding the project.
A second open house format meeting was held in 2014 for the City and Engineering Consultant to share substantially completed construction drawings and answer questions regarding the project.
Pending final approval from OEPA, construction will occur from summer 2018 thru fall of 2019.
Financing for this project is being provided by a below-market rate loan obtained through the OEPA’s Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) and the debt is being serviced through the City of Columbus Stormwater fees.
The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and the letter of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies."
