City of Columbus Extends Application Deadline for Columbus Community Safety Advisory Commission

The City of Columbus has extended the deadline for the application to the Columbus Community Safety Advisory Commission, a component of Mayor Andrew J. Ginther’s Comprehensive Neighborhood Safety Strategy to Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

Mayor Ginther and his administration developed the safety strategy with community feedback, insights from law enforcement professionals and data-driven, proven best practices from other cities. Included in his plan was the creation of the Columbus Community Safety Advisory Commission.

The Commission will also recommend a consultant from those who respond to a public request for proposals to support their work.

To be eligible, candidates for the commissioners must be City of Columbus residents. Elected officials, candidates for public office, city employees and registered lobbyists are not eligible to serve. Commissioners will serve without compensation. Participation requires a commitment of at least one day per month for one year.

Applications are available online. Mayor Ginther will make appointments to the Commission in February.
