Prepayment Now Available at Some City of Columbus Parking Meters
As
an added convenience, motorists can now prepay as early as 6 a.m. at certain
parking meters in the City of Columbus that start enforcement at 8 a.m.
That’s
more than 2,600 of the nearly 4,500 parking meters in the City. Motorists are
now able to pay at these meters using a credit card or by using coins beginning
at 6 a.m. The time paid for would start elapsing when the meter
officially begins enforcement at 8 a.m. up to the posted time limit.
“This
will make metered parking more convenient especially for those who have
appointments prior to 8 a.m. that will allow them to keep their appointments
without having to get back to the parking meter to pay when the meter
officially begins enforcement,” said Jennifer Gallagher, Director of Public
Service for the City of Columbus.
