Council Recognizes National Retirement Planning Week
Council
President Pro Tem Michael Stinziano is recognizing National
Retirement Planning Week, a nationwide effort to help consumers focus on their
financial needs in retirement. The events planned the week of April 9-13, 2018,
provide opportunities that have a long-lasting impact and promote the
importance of comprehensive retirement planning.
“Retirement
planning is an important step to be able to comfortably age in place. I’m glad
these resources are readily available to empower our aging population,” said
President Pro Tem Stinziano.
During
this week-long celebration, the National Retirement Planning Coalition
encourages retirement planning through nationally distributed print, radio, a
coordinated media outreach program and sponsored events throughout the week.
“While working with
Age-Friendly Columbus, I heard from residents who were concerned about their
financial futures,” he continued.
Age-Friendly Columbus
is a citywide initiative working to ensure that individuals of all ages and
abilities can remain in their neighborhoods and live a high quality of life
independently.
