Mayor Ginther Announces Neighborhood Pride’s 19th Season

Mayor Andrew J. Ginther announced four neighborhoods selected for the Neighborhood Pride program: Schumacher Place, Strawberry Farms, Beechwood and Pinecrest, and Georgian Heights.

Now in its 19th season, Neighborhood Pride is a partnership between residents and the City of Columbus in which neighborhood groups invite city departments to bring a wide variety of coordinated neighborhood services into specific areas for a week.

“We know that the physical restoration of neighborhoods leads to safer, stronger communities,” said Mayor Ginther. “For almost 20 years, Neighborhood Pride has united residents and city workers in revitalizing areas. It is also an excellent opportunity for neighbors – residents, faith leaders, police officers and firefighters -- to get to know one another and build a sense of camaraderie that lasts long after the program is complete.”

The schedule for 2018 Neighborhood Pride is as follows:

Schumacher PlacE
May 14 – 18, 2018

Strawberry Farms
June 4 – 8, 2018

Beechwood/Pinecrest
July 23 – 27, 2018

Georgian Heights
September 24 – 28, 2018

Since its inception, Neighborhood Pride has serviced 97 neighborhoods, inspected more than 84,717 parcels of land, repaired 3,209 streetlights, painted 10,172 fire hydrants and picked up 1,577 tons of bulk trash. In addition, over 1,000 businesses have given back over $1 million of in-kind goods and services to their communities through the Neighborhood Pride Partner Program.
