Changes Made To Short North Parking Plan In Wake Of Community Feedback
The
Department of Public Service has modified the Short North Parking Plan based on
community feedback.
Among the changes made to the plan in the wake of
community feedback were:
·
Smaller, consistent parking permit zones reflecting unique zone parking
challenges
·
Improved permit flexibility for resident and employee parking permits
·
Increased prioritization for permit holders with the introduction of overnight
permit only restrictions
The Department of Public Service will hold a public
meeting on the updates and will answer questions on implementation on May 10 at
the Garden Theater, 1187 N. High St., from 6-7:30 p.m.
The City and its partners have held summits and have been
surveying residents and business owners and conducting focus groups to gain
feedback.
The City is developing a plan to enhance parking in the
Short North that will leverage forward-thinking parking technology and use
pricing to provide access to the most users as possible. The City also will
also leverage existing options such as transit, ride-, car- and bike-share
programs to increase access to the Short North.
