East Broad Street Widening

DESCRIPTION AND BENEFITS:

This is the first phase of a major widening project to construct new through and turn lanes of various configurations in the East Broad Street corridor from the east side of the I-270 interchange to the intersection of E. Broad Street and Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. This first phase will construct new pavement for the widening and resurfacing of the existing pavement from the I-270 interchange to Outerbelt Street and will include traffic signal improvements; addition of a shared use path, sidewalk, street lighting, street trees, signal interconnect conduit; and incidental improvements such as drainage, traffic control, sediment and erosion control, water adjustments, and maintenance of traffic.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE:
Study: Autumn 2017 – Autumn 2018

Design: Early 2019 – Spring 2022
Right-of-way acquisition: Spring 2020 – Spring 2022
Construction: Summer 2022 – Autumn 2024, subject to funding approval by City Council and weather conditions

Study: $400,000

Design: $1.1 million 
Right-of-way acquisition: $1.1 million

Utility relocation: $400,000
Construction: $13.8 million
