Council Receives Proposed 2019 Operating Budget
Columbus Mayor Ginther Presents Operating Budget for Council Review [COLUMBUS-OH] Mayor Andrew J. Ginther presented his proposed 2019 Operating Budget to Columbus City Council on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. The $912 million general fund budget reaffirms the Mayor’s commitment to neighborhoods with multi-million dollar investments in early childhood education, New Americans initiatives, infant mortality, code enforcement and community crisis intervention.
“We appreciate the detailed work Mayor Ginther and his team put into preparing the 2019 Operating Budget, as well as the discussions in recent months on our shared priorities among Councilmembers,” said Council President Shannon Hardin. “We look forward to reviewing the plan and engaging the public for input on how this budget addresses neighborhood needs.”
Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2019 operating budget on November 27, 2018, Council Chambers, 4pm. The individual committee hearing schedule will be announced at a later date.
