NEW PAY-BY-LICENSE PLATE PARKING TECHNOLOGY INSTALLED ON NATIONWIDE BOULEVARD
New parking meter technology that uses a pay-by-license
plate system is being installed today along a section of Nationwide Boulevard
in the Arena District.
Three Multi-Space Pay Kiosks are replacing traditional
meters for vehicles parking on the south side of Nationwide Boulevard between
West Street and Ludlow Street. The kiosks are expected to be operational
beginning Friday, Nov. 30. Current
parking rate and time limit restrictions remain in place.
To use a kiosk after you park, begin the transaction by
keying in your license plate number. Credit and debit cards and coins are
accepted for parking payment. The kiosk technology features:
- A pay-by-plate system
- Payment by credit/debit cards or coins
- A large display and easy-to-follow keypad
- No need to return to your vehicle to display
parking validation
The kiosks’ installation comes as streetscape improvements
along this section of Nationwide Boulevard are being completed. Kiosks will
also be installed in late 2019 along Belle and Town streets in the area of
COSI, said Robert Ferrin, Assistant Director of Parking Services for the
Columbus Department of Public Service.
“The Multi-Space Pay Kiosks offer easy-to-use technology,”
Ferrin said. “It is customer friendly, and we’re excited to begin incorporating
this efficiency into our parking solutions.”
