Denise M. Robinson

Denise Robinson is President and CEO of Alvis, Inc. Alvis, founded in 1967, has three service lines: 1) Programs for individuals and families impacted by justice involvement; 2) Behavioral health treatment programs, including sober housing for women and their children; and 3) Intermediate care and supported living services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. 

Since becoming CEO in 2005, Robinson has grown Alvis by over 400% in order to meet increasing community needs for its services. Alvis serves nearly 10,000 people each year and its programs impact tens of thousands more.  Robinson’s professionalism, dedication and determination has earned her respect and admiration across the spectrum of stakeholders all over the world.

Robinson’s volunteer service to professional organizations is extensive. She is the Chair of the Commission on Accreditation for Corrections for the American Correctional Association (ACA) and will become ACA’s Treasurer next year. Robinson serves on the Board of the International Community Corrections Association (ICCA), where she is also a Past President; on the Advisory Board for Columbus State Community College; on the Board of Directors for LifeCare Alliance and will be on the Board of Directors for the Reeb Avenue Center beginning 2019. 

Robinson's personal professional recognition includes the ER Cass Award from ACA; Margaret Mead Award from ICCA; and she is a member of the YWCA-Columbus' Academy of Women of Achievement and a WELD calendar honoree.  

Robinson is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
