ParkColumbus App is Coming to the Arena District
The
ParkColumbus app, offering the convenience of paying for parking using a mobile
device, will launch on Friday, May 31, for use at 32 meters and three kiosks in
the Arena District.
The
ParkColumbus app was successfully introduced as a payment option at meters and
in mobile payment-only parking zones in the Short North in December, with a
fifth of the public already choosing to use the mobile pay app in the short
time since its launch. In addition to the Arena District, the City of Columbus
plans to continue to phase in mobile payment with the app in 2019-2020 to all
4,500 parking meters and kiosks in areas including Downtown, the Brewery
District, Grandview Avenue (within the City of Columbus) and the University
District.
“The
ParkColumbus app gives people a responsive and accessible way to park in the
city and ensures a smooth parking experience,” said Robert Ferrin, Assistant
Director of Parking Services. “The app’s expansion provides yet another parking
option for people looking to enjoy the Arena District.”
To pay for
parking using the app, simply enter the zone number posted on the parking meter
or kiosk sticker, choose the duration and touch the “start parking” button. The
app sends alerts when the parking session is about to expire so a user can
extend time right from the app.
The
ParkColumbus app, powered by ParkMobile, is available for both iPhone and
Android devices. Don’t have a smartphone? Users can call the toll-free number
displayed on the meters and kiosks.
