Downtown Street Closures and Meter Restrictions for Red, White & Boom
Red, White & Boom on Wednesday,
July 3, will require multiple street closures and parking meter restrictions this
week in downtown Columbus.
The following streets are currently
closed through Thursday morning, July 4:
- Washington Blvd. (Broad St. to Main
St.)
- Civic Center Dr. (Broad St. to Main
St.)
- Spring St. (Marconi Blvd. to Neil
Ave.)
- Long St. (Hocking St. to Marconi
Blvd.)
- Neil Ave. (Spring St. to Long St.)
PARKING METERS
Parking
meters throughout the downtown central business district will be bagged for no
parking leading up to and through the event.
PARADE
The Red,
White & Boom parade will close Front Street (Nationwide Blvd. to Main St.)
starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3.
The parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. from the Main Street bridge, turns
north on Front Street and disbands at the corner of Front and Spring streets. A
majority of the east/west streets along the parade route will also close at 5
p.m. and reopen at midnight.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT STREET CLOSURES
From 5:30
p.m. to midnight on Wednesday, July 3, all streets within these boundaries be
fully closed to vehicular traffic:
- North
Boundary: Spring St.
- East
Boundary: Third St.
- South
Boundary: Mound St.
- West
Boundary: McDowell St.
SHARED MOBILITY DEVICES (e-scooters)
Shared mobility
devices are not permitted in the downtown area closed to vehicular traffic for
Red, White & Boom.
For those
considering using a shared mobility device to get to the event, please check the
no-ride/no-park zone that will be displayed on each vendor’s app. And remember,
these devices are not permitted to be driven on the sidewalk.

Offices Closing Early on July 3: The Department of Public Service, including the Parking Services
Office and the Right-of-Way Permits Office, will close early on July 3.
