City of Columbus Announces Panelists for ConnectUS Business Conference & Expo Signature Luncheon

The City of Columbus announced the panelists for the ConnectUS Business Conference & Expo Signature Luncheon, one of the premier events for the day-long event on October 2, 2019. The panel will be moderated by Dawn Dickson, CEO of PopCom, an automated retail company that uses facial recognition, A.I and blockchain technology to help retailers collect valuable customer insights. Panelist include:

  • Arlan Hamilton, founder and managing partner of Backstage Capital, a fund that is dedicated to minimizing funding disparities in tech by investing in high-potential founders who are of color, women and/or LGBT
  • Jewel Burks Solomon, Partpic tech-preneur, a startup designed to streamline the purchase of maintenance and repair parts using computer vision through groundbreaking technology
  • Ryan Wilson, CEO and co-founder of The Gathering Spot, a way for people from diverse industries and backgrounds to come together for collaboration, connections and experiences
  • Falon Donohue, CEO of VentureOhio that works to increase access to capital, foster collaboration and tell Ohio’s story through innovation, job creation and wealth generation.

“We are thrilled to have such experienced and accomplished panelists at our Signature Luncheon,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “These experts will provide our attendees with the tools they need to grow their own businesses and enterprises.”

The Signature Luncheon will take place in the Short North Ballroom at the Greater Columbus Convention Center from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

ConnectUS Business Conference & Expo includes a full day of workshops and speakers that provide tips, resources and business opportunities to start-ups, entrepreneurs and small business owners. The conference offers an interactive platform for business owners and leaders, procurement officers, supplier diversity professionals and industry influencers to discuss best practices to build and grow their businesses.
