Mayor Andrew J. Ginther Announces Deputy Chief of Staff Greg Davies Accepts New Role

After 20 years serving the city of Columbus, Deputy Chief of Staff Greg Davies has accepted a new position as Vice President of Planning and Development with the Columbus Partnership.

“Greg has been a faithful and fearless leader in every role he has served for the City from Public Utilities to the Mayor’s Office,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “I am deeply grateful for his dedication, counsel and friendship in my first term. I will miss his day-to-day guidance and presence at City Hall, but look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role at the Columbus Partnership.”

Davies built Mayor Ginther’s cabinet and staff after he was elected in November of 2015, assuring the team would be poised to move the new Mayor’s priorities forward. As Director of Public Utilities from 2011 to 2015, Davies managed three divisions – Water, Sewers and Drains, and Power – and a $600 million budget. He also served as a Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Michael B. Coleman, and as Deputy Director of Development where he implemented the Home Again program to fight blight in the city through prevention, aggressive code enforcement and property acquisition, rehabilitation, and, when necessary, demolition.

Davies' last day with the City will be October 30, 2019. A replacement has not yet been named.
