Monica Cerrezuela
Monica
Cerrezuela currently serves on the senior leadership team at the Central Ohio
Transit Authority (COTA) as Chief of Staff. In this role, she works closely
with the President/CEO and Deputy CEO to help promote their strategic vision
throughout the organization.
Prior
to joining COTA, Monica served as the Advocacy & Community Outreach Manager
at The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio where she was responsible for developing
the organization’s advocacy program. In this position, she helped foster
collaborative partnerships, educated lawmakers on issues, and created
opportunities to mobilize the community around gender equality. Monica began her time
in public service as an Ohio Legislative Service Commission Fellow. After the completion
of the fellowship, she was hired as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Kenny
Yuko and then served as Special Assistant to former Senate Minority Leader Joe
Schiavoni.
A
native of Canton, Ohio, Monica earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy
from the University of Michigan. When not working, Monica stays active in the
community through her involvement as an Executive Board Member for New Leaders
Council – Columbus and her position as Chair of the Franklin County Adelante
Democrats. Monica is proud to call Columbus home and currently resides in Olde
Towne East.
