Southerly UST Removal & Building Heating Improvements

This project will replace the heating system for the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant and includes the removal of three large underground (fuel oil) storage tanks currently used to supply fuel to the boilers at the plant.  The boilers are at the end of their useful life and must be replaced and the removal of the underground storage tanks permanently eliminates any risk of potential groundwater contamination.

Construction will begin in early 2020 and be completed by late 2021. Financing is being provided by a below market rate loan through the OEPA’s Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) Program.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and the Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organization, and Government Agencies.
