WHAT:
Columbus & Franklin County Local Food Action Plan 2018 annual report to the community and public hearing.
Community leaders, partners and stakeholders will share recent accomplishments in the local food system and highlight how the City of Columbus and Franklin County are leveraging the Local Food Action Plan to support these efforts. Participants will provide updates on local farmers markets, civic agriculture, food system economic development, food waste reduction efforts, equity in the food system and healthy food access.
This hearing is open to the public and interested residents are invited to offer public testimony. Comments will be limited to three minutes. Anyone wishing to address City Council please email [email protected] and [email protected] by 2:00pm the day of the hearing.
The Local Food Action Plan was adopted in 2016 as the food policy platform for Columbus and Franklin County to create a fair and sustainable food system that benefits the economy, environment and all people.
