Payment Plans and Assistance
Taxpayers who are unable to pay their full tax balance may be eligible for assistance. Please review the following and contact us with any additional questions about your tax bill.
I received a bill and can't pay the balance. Is there a payment plan available?
Yes. Please contact our Delinquent Collection section at 614-645-8152 to discuss payment plan options after you have received a notice for a balance due.
Is there a fee charged for payment plans?
No. There are no additional fees but penalty and/or interest will accrue after the tax is due.
I am currently in a payment plan and cannot make the established payment due to my financial situation. What should I do?
Please contact our Delinquent Collection section at 614-645-8152 to resume making payments. Our team is available from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Can my penalty be reduced or removed?
Employers, individuals, and businesses who pay the full tax and interest due may be eligible for a reduction of penalty on their tax liability.
To request an abatement, please contact the Division at 614-645-7370 so we may review your account and determine whether you are eligible for a reduction of penalty. If your account is eligible for an abatement, you must send in a written abatement request detailing the circumstances surrounding the delinquency and an explanation of the penalty.
Please note that interest on tax liabilities cannot be reduced or removed. No penalty reductions can be considered until all required tax returns are filed and all tax and interest are paid in full.
