Payment Plans and Assistance

Taxpayers who are unable to pay their full tax balance may be eligible for assistance. Please review the following and contact us with any additional questions about your tax bill.

I received a bill and can't pay the balance. Is there a payment plan available?
Yes. Please log into your account on the Columbus Revenue Service Portal (CRISP) at crisp.columbus.gov after you have received a notice for a balance due to set up a payment plan.

Is there a fee charged for payment plans?
No. There are no additional fees but penalty and/or interest will accrue after the tax is due.

I am currently in a payment plan and cannot make the established payment due to my financial situation. What should I do?
Contact our Collections Enforcement section at 614-645-8152. Our team is available from Monday through Friday,
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Can my penalty be reduced or removed?
Employers, individuals, and businesses who pay the full tax and interest due may be eligible for a one-time reduction of penalty on their tax liability. Abatements can be requested on the Columbus Revenue Service Portal (CRISP) at crisp.columbus.gov. Please note that interest on tax liabilities cannot be reduced or removed. No penalty reductions can be considered until all required tax returns are filed and all tax and interest are paid in full. If you are in an active payment plan and have requested a penalty abatement, you may have it conditionally granted during your payment plan.
