WHAT:
Councilmembers Rob Dorans, Chair of the Public Utilities Committee and Councilmember Emmanuel V. Remy, Chair of the Environment Committee will convene the second joint public hearing on utility aggregation to discuss best practices and gather input from Columbus residents.
The City will share updates on the process to implement an electric community choice aggregation program, and provide context for how it fits into the City’s overall efforts to address climate change, reduce emissions, and provide clean, renewable energy.
AEP Energy, the City’s selected preferred energy supplier, will discuss their options related to providing 100% clean, renewable energy for Columbus citizens. Additionally they will share how they intend to provide quality, reliable service and first-rate customer service.
Any resident seeking to submit written testimony should forward it to the office of Councilmember Dorans. Written testimony must be received by 4PM on the day of the hearing and emailed to Kevin McCain at [email protected]. Residents who want to provide testimony via WebEx during the virtual hearing must email Kevin McCain at [email protected] by noon on the day of the hearing to request a WebEx speaker link. Each speaker's remarks are limited to three minutes or less.
This hearing is available live stream on the CTV website and broadcast on Spectrum, Channel 1024; WOW, Channel 3 and AT&T U-verse, Channel 99. The video will also be posted on the City of Columbus YouTube channel following the event.
