2020 Fall Reservoir Litter Clean-ups Are Self-Guided

TrashPickUpVolunteerPick your date, pick your favorite reservoir location, and pick up litter!

September 19th through October 4th, 2020, volunteers are invited to pick up litter along the shorelines of Hoover, O’Shaughnessy and Griggs Reservoirs. City of Columbus Watershed Management will collect bagged litter and track the amount of participants and trash removed.

Trash bags are available for contact-free pick up, or volunteers can provide their own. Full bags collected from around the reservoir should be placed next to a green park trash can where they will be collected by city staff during routine weekly trash collections.

For more information or to get started, please contact Columbus Watershed Management at 614-645-1721 or email [email protected]

Volunteers should review and follow all CDC guidelines for preventing COVID-19 spread. In addition to social distancing, the use of hand sanitizer, gloves, and litter grabbers, if available, are also advised. If volunteering as a group, please keep group sizes under 10.

As always, avoid eating or touching your face until you can wash your hands. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and long pants. Children should be accompanied by an adult and be mindful of water safety.

THANK YOU!Butterfly

Columbus Department of Public Utilities and clean-up partners would like to thank all volunteers and share your success. Participants who submit photos of their bagged trash, or the number of volunteers and bags collected will be entered in a drawing to win small prizes or be featured on our social media.
