With better weather, many people are cleaning out their garages and basements and trying to figure out what to do with household hazardous waste materials like motor oil, gasoline, lighter fluid and propane tanks. If you’d like to get rid of these or other hazardous waste items, you can stop by a “Household Waste Collection Day” April 22, 2023 and again in the fall (date TBD). It’s open to all Franklin County residents. For a list of accepted items, additional events and year-round collection, visit swaco.org.
