WHAT:
The Saunders PR Group will present residents’ feedback gathered from a community survey, focus groups and a series of virtual town halls during this hearing. This feedback will determine Council's work to Reimagine Public Safety.
Nearly 4,000 residents participated in the community survey, providing essential feedback on how Council can invest in community safety and continue to build trust between the community and law enforcement. Additionally, residents submitted hundreds of ideas during the town halls and The Saunders PR Group conducted more than a dozen focus groups. The hearing will include testimony from community members representing four groups - older residents, youth, people with disabilities, and New Americans.
Any resident seeking to submit written testimony should submit their testimony to the office of Council President Shannon G. Hardin. Written testimony must be received by 2pm on the day of the hearing and should be emailed to Zak Davidson at [email protected].
Any resident wishing to appear via WebEx to provide testimony during the virtual hearing should email Zak Davidson at [email protected] by noon on the day of the hearing to request a WebEx speaker link. Each speaker will be limited to remarks lasting no longer than three minutes.
This hearing will be livestreamed and posted on the City of Columbus YouTube channel following the event.
