City Council Now Accepting Applications for Columbus Youth Council
[COLUMBUS, OH] Council is accepting applications for the Columbus Youth Council. The program gives select Columbus high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn about city government, and how they can become stewards in their community.

Led by Councilmember Shayla Favor, students participating in the program will receive lessons dealing with topics such as the structure of city government, economic development, how municipalities function, and much more.
During their term, students will:
- Gain a greater understanding of city government and how local leaders make a difference
- Enhance civic engagement and local leadership skills
- Earn hours toward their high school volunteer commitment
- Receive special recognition from the City of Columbus for their participation in the program.
The Council will consist of 20 seniors and juniors from Columbus City Schools. Applications are due by August 2, 2021.
