Statement from Council President Hardin on the New FOP Contract
[Columbus, OH] – The following statement regarding the approval of the new labor contract between The City of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Police Cap City Lodge #9 can be attributed in full, or in part, to Council President Shannon G. Hardin:
"I am pleased that the members of the FOP accepted the new contract and I will vote to support it tonight. The contract they negotiated with the Administration allows for the full implementation of the Civilian Police Review Board, requires officers to take drug tests after shootings or deadly uses of force, and includes many improvements for accountability. This contract isn’t perfect, but it is an improvement from the status quo.“
