WHAT:
Councilmember Mitchell J. Brown is
joining Age-Friendly Columbus and Franklin County, and The Ohio State
University, to celebrate five years of progress and the opening of the new Age
Friendly Innovation Center. The center's mission is to innovate with older
adults through research, education, and engagement to ensure inclusion and
build resiliency to make our communities age-friendly. This center will be a
hub to test innovative solutions to improve the quality of life for older
residents in Central Ohio. After five years of service to the residents of
Columbus, Age Friendly Columbus will be moving into this new space with new
goals and initiatives to continue to improve mobility options for older adults,
support their efforts to age at home, and enhance access to recreation and
supportive services.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required, and attendance
will be limited. If you wish to attend, RSVP by emailing Ian Murphy at [email protected].
This announcement will be available on WCBZ Channel 22.6,
broadcast on Spectrum, Channel 1024; WOW, Channel 3, and AT&T
U-verse, Channel 99. The video will be posted on the City of Columbus YouTube
channel following the event.
