Homestead Drive Area Water Line Improvements

This project will be constructed as part of the Division of Water’s (DOW) Replacement and Rehabilitation (R &R) Program. The water line project area is located in the North Linden neighborhood (see map(PDF, 523KB)).The goal of this project is to replace the existing 8-inch and 6-inch water lines that have a high break frequency. Replacement of these water lines will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.

The project will include approximately 11,000 linear feet of water line replacement. The existing water mains range from 60 to 70 years in age and from 6-inches to 8-inches in diameter. Along with the installation of new water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers. Construction is expected to begin in spring of 2022 and concluded in fall 2023.

Prior to construction, the Neighborhood Liaison will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may result though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.

DOW plans to fund this project with a below market-rate loan through the Ohio EPA’s Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the DOW to determine the project’s eligibility for the program.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the letter(PDF, 960KB) of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies."
