WHAT:

Council President Pro Tem Elizabeth Brown, chair of the Finance Committee, will host a hybrid Finance Committee hearing to provide a review and receive feedback on the City of Columbus' 2022 operating budget, proposed by Mayor Ginther on November 15, 2021.

"We want to hear from residents about how the city can best deliver critical services," said Pro Tem Brown. “This hearing will highlight how the budget supports the quality of life for families while also gathering feedback on how the city can continue to improve the services it provides."

The hearing will provide an opportunity for the public and Councilmembers to ask questions of Columbus department leaders as the proposed operating budget approaches final consideration.

Residents wishing to attend this hearing in person may do so in Council Chambers within City Hall, but must be masked per the City's indoor mask requirement. Department Directors will be presenting information and answering questions virtually, in an attempt to maintain social distance due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Any resident seeking to submit written testimony should email James Carmean at [email protected] by noon on the day of the hearing. Residents who want to provide testimony via WebEx during the virtual hearing must also email [email protected] by noon on the day of the hearing to request a WebEx speaker link. Each speaker's remarks are limited to three minutes or less.
