Public Safety Committee to Host Public Hearing on Alternative Crisis Response Programs

WHAT:
Councilmember Emmanuel V. Remy, chair of the Safety Committee, and Council President Shannon G. Hardin will host a public hearing to discuss the Alternative Crisis Response Unit programs with a special focus and update on the Right Response Unit (RRU) and Mobile Crisis Response Unit (MCR). Additionally, the hearing will discuss Columbus Public Health's efforts to connect patients with care networks and social workers.
While residents wishing to attend this hearing in person may do so in Council Chambers within City Hall, all members of the public are encouraged to attend or engage virtually via Facebook or YouTube due to the current rise of COVID-19. Any attendees in person must be masked, per the City's indoor mask requirement.
Any resident seeking to submit written testimony should email Lucy Frank at [email protected] by noon on the day of the hearing. Residents who want to provide testimony via WebEx during the hearing must also email Lucy Frank at [email protected] by noon on the day of the hearing to request a WebEx speaker link. Each speaker's remarks are limited to three minutes or less.
